Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and his future in MMA |
Monday, 18 February 2008 |
The future of Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson is crystal clear in the eyes of MMA scholars. Kimbo is now 2-0 in the world of MMA after defeating David “Tank” Abbott by KO in the first round. Tank was a perfect match up for Kimbo in that they are both brawlers that like to bang. |

ActiveTree - Script creates dynamic lists |
Friday, 21 December 2007 |
I wrote client-side javascript that will convert nested lists (<ul> tags) into dynamic lists. All you have to do is create a reference to the activetree.js file in your web page. Then, add the “active-tree” class to all of the lists that you want dynamic. |

"World Enough and Time" Review |
Saturday, 06 October 2007 |
Star Trek New Voyages finally released "World Enough and Time" staring George Takei. The previews looked intense, so I signed up to be on the first viewing guest list via their website. I logged in on the release date along with many other eager fans. The servers quickly fell victim to the demand and we were all sent packing.... without even a torrent. Will somebody from New Voyages please do me a favor? Please, the first thing you post on the site should be a torrent. Direct download links and streaming links always fail under pressure. |

I looked at OpenSuse 10.2 as a Win2k replacement. I’ve been impressed with Suse over the years so I was looking forward to see what Novell brought to the table with 10.2. Like I said before, I am not going to judge a distribution on its setup process (OS installation, mp3 setup, flash setup, adding printer, etc), however I am going to mention some installation pitfalls I ran into during the 10.2 install. |

In Search of a Win2k Replacement |
Monday, 25 December 2006 |
As I have mentioned in a previous article , I’m a Windows 2000 user. I periodically review Linux distributions in the search of a Win2k replacement. I have a few PCs, and I plan on installing a Linux distro on all of them once I find a suitable replacement for Win2k. I’d prefer to have a mostly homogenous setup for support reasons. Also, I don’t want the other users in the house to keep track of multiple OS or distro flavors (how do you burn a CD on this thing). |

PayPal 's dispute system needs help |
Sunday, 24 December 2006 |
I started using Ebay to sell and purchase items in September of 2006. I prefer to only use PayPal for payment services whether I’m buying or selling. PayPal makes money by taking a relatively small percentage from the amount paid to the seller. As a seller, I had no problem with this agreement since it was also paying for other services that come into play when a transaction falls through. I know now that the quality of service I expected from PayPal was different from what I originally thought.

When will Microsoft drop the Patent Hammer? |
Wednesday, 29 November 2006 |
First off, it’s hard to tell whether the hammer will have any weight. However, the idea of an IP war looming doesn’t help future Linux adoption. The latest deal with Novell and recent comments from Microsoft regarding Linux and intellectual property remind us that the day is coming. To some people the question of when Microsoft will hit Linux with the patent club isn’t that obvious; but to me, it’s evident (the arrogant tone was intended). |
